Re: Uk regulations / planning laws on aerials

Stick it on a telescopic mast away from the house job done no planning required for a free standing mast that can be lowered when not in use

Re: Just taken a punt with 25 quid rig

2 ways to try and reduce noise levels
1 ..move to the country
2 ..go mobile to the country
Failing that try and place the aerial as high and far away from houses as possible but even then you will still get crap from neighbours etc

Re: High and variable SWR that doesn't seem to be related to grounding

If no shorts its a grounding issue as its trying to use the coax as part of the antenna er go when you move it you get different results

Re: Sirio boomerang

Buy yaself a few ferrite plugs to put on ya cables also it wouldn't hurt making an air choke 5-6 winds of coax around a 4 and a quarter inch diameter near the antenna base (if you cant find anything to wind it around just use a 2l plastic bottle that's close enough) just do a google search for air c...

Re: Rigging mobile antenna for home use

As its a mobile antenna you would need a significant ground plane to get it working correctly some people just bolt em onto the metal guttering etc some put down large metal plates not sure how effective running a ground wire would be Trust me on this just experiment with what you have and see what ...

Re: Roof Antenna

Wouldn't waste my money on all that crap just buy a telescopic pole and mount antenna on said pole raise and lower as needed with an added bonus of always being able to work on your antenna plus it keeps it neighbour friendly Fixing is simple get a 6 foot scaff pole concrete that 3ft into the ground...

Wouldn'T bother with the imax
Does the rfi effect neighbours phones?
Maybe your phones are the problem older wire in wall ones pick up alot of crap
newer mobile type ones seem abit better

If the problem dont effect the immediate neighbors i wouldn't be to bothered id get rid of the antrons too lol

Re: A99-radials

Just a thought for about 90quid you can get a 10 metre telescopic pole which when down is only
7ft so would keep nextdoor happy and at night or whenever you use it can be raised

Re: Antenna Cable

I didn't see what coax you are running for that 18m
but as a minimum when using ssb you want to be using
at least rg213 it could be the crappy coax giving you the grief

most people i know use ecoflex or westflex
