Re: Antron Firestik FireUp 99 top

Take them both down and put up a 4 element beam on a 20ft pole and less interference m8. Sorry I disagree, I’m going to take them both down and try my beloved K40 on a wheelbarrow – may not get out so far but it does help cut down all the interference we get  http://i484...

Re: Signal Meters - Usefull or Not ?

Signal meter is only a guess meter and honestly what does matter what signal they are doing to you, so long as you can hear em.

Re: swr meter ??? is it a mith does it exist????

I have a LDG one here that suits the Yaesu FT897-D radio, worth $89aus and indicates RF power output, SWR, modulation, ALC action and supply voltage on transmit.
I didn't buy it, it come with the radio, is it worth it? I didn't think so, sits on the shelf doing nothing now.

For dxing. The radiation comes off at a lower angle meaning it hits the ionshpere further away and thus is reflected further. Sorry probably should have added that.

Re: K40

coax lenght can change swr readings normally only ever so slightly. If the swr is going out big time with differant coax lenghts than I would say the K40 has some other design problem.

no idea. 8-[
That's probably why he stopped you and asked for directions, if he had a rig he would have been on it asking.

Re: Which Base Antenna? - Windy location

And what db gain do you have on your kite?

I'd reflect what has been said about the 99, I have the big brother to it, the I-max 2000 which is longer and so far it has stood up to a cyclone and summer storms.

Depends how well the swr was set at low power. The closer to 1:1 at low power it is the less it will rise with more power.

The triple 5 will pick up again just needs the sunspot activity to increase. Might take a couple of years before Ozz starts getting over to there again though.
756 pro3 nice :D , you see the Icom are releasing the 7600 shortly?

Re: which radio ?

AM is just a differant type of mode output. Probably not anyone using AM on 11m over there being illegal. Couple of people still use AM here in OZZ but the majority of people here are on LSB.
