yes sounds like a mike problem or the breakers you are listening to have thw squelch turned up high
and can not hear you

need to be put on channel when first bought it fooled me a couple of times it says thaat it is on freq when first switched on but it lies
needs to be set up from start on uk then it will work fine

you need a Firestick base with coax and 8ft 6 inch of bell wire for a start conect the bell wire to the lead side of the firestick base and useing an swrr meter trim the length of bell wire till you get a reading of about 1.5 to 2 then you should be able to reach your mate *King* *King* *King* *King*

hi read with intrest a bit of locktite on grub screw should help hokd it as well not had that problem with any antenna unless i t was my fault not tightening the screw enough

Treat the tx signal as you would a teprature gauge if it alters at all on the std channel you use it is not working better but the swr is going out there is no standard for the out reading on cb's

cb is alive and well in preston and leyland the channel they use is 38 not the pld 27 tha we switched to in about 1980 so good luck

easier to use the bsic plugs a tip is to twist the outer shield as well this will tighten up the earth connection side of the pl259 ad you can use a cig lighter to drop a bit of solder on the tip
