In 1980 the A.M calling channel was 19 in Manchester but i believe the calling channel was different in other parts of the country. . If 14 was to be used, would it be a nation wide calling channel ? I would of like 19 but if a load of people came back on the cb, i wouldnt be bothered what channel ...

No only the 6 week course, and the first one of week 6 started last night, and the next one not till August I think,

The Sirio performer 600 is only 1250 mm, shorter antennas are notorious for try to achieve a low SWR. Try a bigger antenna Ryan, antenna size is everything in this game of radio. I use the Sirio 5000 and found I needed to cut off a couple of inches to achieve a low swr.

Try plugging in an extension speaker, just to see if the internal speaker is to blame.

SCAM 12 about £500 if you can get a good one Totally agree. Can thoroughly recommend Amateur radio training course held by C.A.R.S. at Danbury ,Chelmsford. I did my license here a few or more years ago and really did enjoy it (apart from the repeater talk :wink: ) Clive.Martin and the team are a good bunch...go for it Lads :D
