Re: Dual antenna quick release

Antenna switcher is the best way to go , If you can leave both antennas on then you will need a Co Fased harness to run 2 antannas at the same time .

Re: seeking help

Hi Band channell 33 is the closest to channell 19 UK but still 2.75 khz off and the Major clarifier only swings around 2khz on recieve but dose not tune the transmit . Best bet would be to use that radio for sideband 27.555 which is channell 12 high band USB , And just buy a UK FM radio for 19uk .

Re: Newbie from London

If you have a metal bed frame they can sometimes make a good ground plane for a magnetic mobile antenna .

Re: Newbie from London

The Excaliber is the smallest antenna but tends to have poor range , The Boomarang would work better but is around 3 meters tall .

The old DV 27 on a Biscuit tin is probably your best bet . http://www.thunderpole.co.uk/medium-cb-antennas.html

Re: Handheld radios can receive but won't transmit

Do they say Uk 27/81 on them or do they say FCC . If FCC then they may be American frequency , Mid Band and could be AM rather than FM. Try your landy radio on EU channel 7 .

The 4wat output transistor ...

Re: Car CB

Sounds like a wire has come out in the mic plug . Check the mic with a multy meter set to OHMS , 2 wires on the mic should show continuity for recieve and the other 2 should show continuity when the mic is keyed . If the mic plug has more than 4 connections then thunderpolls mic wiring page is the p...

Re: cigarette plug aftermarket question

New radios allways come with a inline fuse on the power lead so no need to buy a more expensive fused plug a unfused shoul suffice . If your motors do not have a USB socket then a double or multy cigaret adaptor may be a good option so you can charge the phone and still leave the CB pluged in .
