Is my Power unit ok for the radio

Hi all, i have bought recently second hand a Sharman multicom 3 amp power supply. My problem is when i key the mic my KPO DX 5000 gives a high pitch beep and on screen flashed DC Lo. I take it the power supply is not enough to run that radio.

Can anyone advise me what i need pls. Cheers

Re: The Migration Continues...

Cheers mate. I only use them for camping so no long drawn out chats. Things like (oh by the way pick up some bacon and sausage while you at the shops and when we went up scotland in convoy we had them in each car) they are a good bit of kit. Can you give me examples of a low gain antenna and a home ...

Re: The Migration Continues...

Hi folks. I have a set of mitex 5W handhelds that i use when i go hill walking / camping. They are a great bit of kit and in open country get a really great range. Is there anything on the market that can increase its range. IE an outside antenna. Any idea what simple mods i can do to use them as...

Re: what with the polish on every channel

I have a great set of Mitex PMR 5 watt hand helds. Great distance over open country. Ideal for camping. Would love advice on increasing range in my local housing estate. Is there such a thing as a roof mounted antenna that the handheld can work off. Therefore i could mount one at the inlaws and one ...

How long can the coax be as it will be a bloody long way. Will signal degrade over lenghth. I was 17 yrs in the Royal signals and the coax we used for...

Re: 19 for a copy

I agree that 19 UK is full of abuse. I opened my mouth some months back and was told to F OFF as its there 19 and not mine. I was threatened etc. I have a rig that will do the EU chanels so i might migrate there. I have made contact with some eu people and they have so much more respect. Whats wrong...
