Sorry for the late reply, been bog down with work. :(
I use PMR 446 radio when carrying out electrical testing work on caravan sites as some of the circuit ends are hundreds of meters apart.
We use a pair of Motorola T5022 radio; there use has increased safety.

Set seems sensitive no problems pushing it out, been talking to many local contacts, heard a CB-er from Scotland !!! must have had a big burner or skip, Lots of farmers, silage contractors using CB down this way
