Yes, mag mounts use something called capacitive coupling to create a connection to ground. So it doesn't matter if the surface is painted and there is no physical electrical connection.

Could be the internal speaker, easiest way to find out is plug an extension speaker in to see what happens.

For the Sirio 5000 to work it would need a groundplane, so you would need to find some metalwork to mount it on.

You could, but it would have to be at least 12 amp continuous rated.

Hi Dave, It depends how big the battery is. If it was 40AH (amp hours) for instance, this means you should be able to theoretically draw 1 amp for 40 hours. As most 4 watt CB's draw around 1 amp on transmit then you could use it for 40 hours on constant transmit. However as CB's draw a lot less on r...
