we are trying to tune a cte lw150 ( sigma 4 copy) the gamma has bottomed out so we guess the tip needs to move up or down. the swr is 1-1 on ch1 and 2 on uk40. can anyone tell us which way the tip needs to go to improve the swr on the uks? thanks :)

we did shorten it and had it set up nicely! came home all excited with bionic budgie (smuggler) on standby to try the beast........... only to find a couple of sections on the patio! the section after the swr tip had snapped on the top screw hole. so i pulled it all to bits again (not being mine to drill and re-screw). gutted! what a stunning antenna tho and how do they work???? the rod in the gamma is in a plastic tube with a plastic cap on the bottom and i think the basket and whip is all groundplane??? thanks for that stampman! ps we aint really blondes or d cups or even ladys :(

Just exactly were is the antenna showing 1.1 ,Low band Mid band High Band and then were on the uk40 is the SWR 2.0 .
Sigma 4 Antennas are broken so often that they are almost allways short and if they are left to short of pipe then there SWR will be best at channel 40 UK and above .
Its impossible for Channel 1 to be 1.1 and 40 to be 2.0 on the UK40.

cant remember to be fair as mat who owned it was doing all the tec! he owned it from new so this is the first time it has snapped. if ti was mine i would have drilled it , screwed it and put it back up but as it wasnt i took it down. he is much in love with it as when he bought it we wer still at school and he saved long and hard to get one even washing cars to put the cash together. i remember him hunting long and hard for a avanti with no luck!!!!! he still uses the 148 dx he got it to work with going strong some 20 odd years later. thanks for comein forward to try and help tho bud!!!! :)
