Just installed my latest acquisition, a Thuderpole Excaliber antenna for my home base set up.

I'm now living in a flat with all sorts of severe restrictions so I needed a small discrete antenna. I know everybody has issues with this antenna but it was only 20 quid so thought I would give it a go before going for something more expensive.

Anyway checked the SWR which was just under the 2 slightly concerning but not a real issue. Switched my old Midland rig I'm currently using on after removing the SWR meter and started talking to a breaker who was a good 6 miles away. This was way more than the antenna is advertised as capable of.

I have to say best twenty quid Ive spent. Thanks Thunderpole.

In a copuple of months I intend to upgrade the whole set up and Im now considering buying the new Thunderpole rig.

Its an old Midland rig I'm using just to get me back into CB and to see what the scen is like locally before spending some money. Have to admit I'm hooked so will be happy to splash the cash for a decent rig. Must admit I fully intend to buy the Thunderpole T-1000 from this site.

Quick question, Thunderpole supply the rig with a cigerette lighter attachment as opposed to the + - battery connectors ??
