Hi folks..

I'm currently using a 1.5 mtr springer antenna on my TTi 551 CB and I'm thinking of going for a 1.6 mtr modulator, would there be any advantages/disadvantages ?

hi Risingsun

yep the voyager / modulator are good antennas but i have heard a lot of people prefer to use the sirio hi-power3000 or the 4000 as they are both 7/8 wave & really good with transmit & receive,

the Wilson antennas well they used to be one of the best antennas around back in there day late 70 until better performing antennas came on to the seen & with Wilson antennas what have not been made in America anymore since the mid to late 90s a Chinese company are making copy's of the wilson antennas & the performance #-o well you would do better on a wet piece of wire.

wildfire the Wilson 1000 is still a very good performing antenna you are thinking of the Mas copy which is rubbish but Wilson 1000's are still made and i have fitted a heck of a lot on commercial vehicles and taxi's around the Cumbria area

the Sirio is a good antenna but but will tend to break in the bottom coil when used mobile for a couple of years where as the Wilson will not i have used one since they came in to the country in fact i got the the first one and am still using it
BUT STAY CLEAR OF THE MASS

I have a cobra 19 which I just bought and fitted with a 1.5m stinger aerial, what would be the advantages of getting a sirio 3000/4000, would the range be increased by much, woul I be able to pull in more signals ? Thanks.

so it`s the mas not hard to tell the difference lol might be a good idea to warn people about buying antennas what are copy's to safe them money & to also help them get a good working proper antenna stampman as you can never go wrong with a original antenna
