Hi Folks,

If you own the Midland G7 radios, there is a very simple mod to make these radios even better. Remove the belt clip and battery, remove the 3 screws holding the back cover on. You should now be looking at the circuit board. On the right hand side are 3 wire loops, snip the top one raises the TX power to 3 watts high and 1 watt low, snip all 3 and this opens up the channels. Re assemble and when you switch on... the channel display will still have the 1 to 8 channels (P1 to P8), then you have 69 more channels numbered 1 to 69. These channels are in the 70cms amateur band so you should have a licence to use them. That said..if your in a busy area and the 8 normal channels are chock a block..this gives you the option to get away from the masses and earwiggers. I post this as INFORMATION ONLY AND YOU CARRY OUT THIS MOD AND USE THE EXTRA CHANNELS AT YOU OWN RISK!

Regards
Budgie
