Hello, I am looking for a set of Radio's that have a long range, of about 40miles, idealy but 20 is alright.

I am looking at these: http://www.thunderpole.co.uk/2-way-radi ... radio.html

But i can't seem to see any info on what their range is, can anyone tell me?

Not that I'd condone such irresponsible behaviour, but you could get Chinese Baofeng type radios, stick an external antenna up, and away you go. This is really really naughty and should not ever be done.
Ever.
But it does work, 25mile ranges are easily achievable, and not a myth.
Allegedly. :D

They will do 40 miles if you are stood on a mountain but standing in the middle of town you will be lucky to get half a mile .Half the CB users in my town have these 5 wat chineese handhelds and they can only hear each other when they have a roof top antenna .
