Hi everyone, I'm just wondering if its possible to retune a TK3301 to use the higher band of 449 MHz.

I had 3 of these units but 2 were stolen. A friend of mine gave me 2 Motorola GP340's which he'd found whilst doing an office clearance.

Initially I thought the radios were PMR sets, but after a bit of research I now realise they're not. So seen as I can't legally retune the Moto's to use PMR, could I buy a 5 year license and get my TK3301 running on my paid frequencies?

How illegal is it to use the GP30's on PMR? I mean surely they're not actively looking for people using an incorrect radio type. What is the punishment if you do get caught, a small fine?
