PMR446 is limited to an ERP of 0.5w.

How is it that some manufacturer's state their handsets range is anywhere from 3km up to 16km? (All seem to claim 0.5w)

Why this apparent difference in range for the same ERP?

Hi Guys, It the line of Sight rule. If you have a clear line of sight from A) transmitter to B) Receiver then you will Receiver the transmission.

With hills, trees, houses, and other obstacle then it stops the signal been received.
