I had one but didn't use it much or keep it very long.

Because to me, the Yupiteru 7100 was just as good on RX and far easier to use.

I bought the 8200 due to the channels / memories that you can name but what a bloody nightmare to do it. So I did about 20 and gave up!

I even purchased a cable to go to the serial port on my pc which needed a converter to USB and still could do it.

You can get plug-in cards for things but they cost a fortune. I was like a brick in size and ate rechargable AA's, took forever to charge them again too!

It's like being used to Nokia Mobile Phone Menus and then getting a Samsung, it's wierd and just doesn't feel right, even though it does the job.

I would never buy an 8200 again, will prob go for the flagship Icom in future?

But for the time being, my all in one Kenwood THF-7E does everything I want.

In Northampton, next to the finest CB Radio Shop in the UK..!!
