Hi again I have a realistic pro-2006 scanner but i dont have a dedicated aerial, what i have done however is tap into the TV aerial by way of DIY genius but will i have gaps in what i can recieve etc or am i good to roam the waves?

You're "good to roam the waves" . . . . But... You could be "gooder" :wink:

If you use a bit of wet wool as an antenna you'll still get full coverage, but you'll pick-up a heck of lot less than if you use a "proper" aerial.

The TV aerial is a lot better than a bit of wet wool, and you won't have any "gaps" but it is not the best solution. For a start a TV aerial is directional (it's like a mini Yagi beam) so it receives best from the direction in which it's pointing, and poorly elsewhere and second, it was designed for specific TV frequencies.

Get yourself a scanner "Discone" antenna and that'll give you the best general coverage possible.
