A very big yay!! Went out yesterday evening and had the Yaesu VX-8E scanning 6m, 2m & 70cm's and doing aprs. Switched the Magnum 257 on and the band was alive!!! All through the sideband segment I could hear qso's. And I got one great qso myself: with an Italian, me mobile with my Wilson 5000 Trucker....my first 'real' ham dx without repeaters or echolink!!!! :D

p.s. Perhaps we're in for some good conditions on 10 & 11 meters?

And again yesterday (Sunday) and today it was even busier! Had a clear as crystal qso with a ham in Switzerland yesterday and just couldn't get through the pile-ups today but could hear dozens of stations!! Sometimes two or three were all trying at the same time!!! Had great fun anyway.... :D

yep , the 10 metre band been very active over the last 2 weeks, plenty of activity on ssb and very strong fm repeater coming through and being worked by uk mobiles . especially the swiss fm repeater on 29.620 , being 60db over quite often.. we have the uk's first 10 metres repeater still active on 29.640 with ctcss access.. been vhatting through swiss repeater on a thunderpole 5/8 silver rod , put up theother month.. enjoy .

Nice and open this weekend.

Managed 4890 miles to Columbia from Manchester while mobile. Using Yaesu-857D and Sirio Hipower 4000.
