And another great day on 10m - the Ukraine and Moscow yesterday morning! I was 5, 7 into the Ukraine and 5, 9 into Moscow. It was wet and windy here... I was quite worried it'd have me antenna down!! But it didn't. Fitted a Hustler spring inbetween the mast and the Super Resonator and that seems to help. :D

:D well done  =D>

I heard a VK6 Perth W/Australia calling on ten metres monday morning but there was a bit of a pile up calling him

I have managed a couple of USA on ten just recently alas with work and family commitments I can only get into the shack for ten minutes at a time

With these conditions I can get moscow quite easily with power as low as 1-2 watts ssb on ten metres but I am using a butterfly quad and I have a good take off towards Russia and the S East.

:D I love using ten metres myself and just think we will have these conditions possibly for the next 3 years

ten metres still good , there are a lot of american repeaters coming through on fm, i had a contact with a chap in pennsylvania direct on 29mhz .
also lots of american station on the cept cbradio band on ssb.
had a couple of contacts into pretoria (south africa) and another into dubai on 10 metre ssb.
wonder if anyone can hear or access the northampton 10 metre fm repeater, the swiss repeater also very strong, plenty of uk stations use these .
25 watts and silver rod works.
the ten metre band also has plenty of dx calling on the fm calling channel.

I've had Budapest from Northampton UK on my Abrecht 2990 Handheld I got from Thunderpole. Not sure how far but was on 27.555 USB and with supplied whip antenna. Was quite chuffed but have also got further on 5W through my Yaesu FT-817 Amateur Radio with a 20M Hamstick on magmount (all Thunderpole again, great place).

Magnum 257, 8 watts into a Hustler Mobile HF Antenna system (10 meter Super Resonator). REALLY pleased with set-up. :D Only drawback is it's VERY tall (fitted special mount on top of the car) and where I live (an island off the West Coast of Scotland) it can be a wee bit windy.... Have had it come down in adverse weather conditions and it shook me up - no damage to antenna or car luckily. So now I don't put it up when it's windy...
