Rite, i've decided to smash the piggy bank  and get a brand new rig etc to go in my new work horse. Been doin a bit of reseach bout whats available at the mo and found out that Albrecht are making multi-band CBs. Quite fancing the AE 6890 for 2 reasons, it has remote a remote head feature, which means i could mount the actual workings of the radio further away from all the computers and electronics in the fendt cab, and it has CTCSS tone squelch thingy. Just wondered if anyone had any experience with these rigs, or am i wasting my money??????? :?:

Only get a rig with CTCSS if all the people you want to chat to have it too.........they're ideal for groups of farmers/workers or whatever who want to be 'private'. Hope this helps! :)

its not private only means the squelch will open on recieving the tone but other peops will still be able to hear you

I've seen them with wilson 1000's fixed somewhere near the flashing beacon and they seem to work very well, not so good if you have lots of low branches or buildings
