hi

i was recently asked to check the swr on my friends CB's that he has in his two tractors.

i found that both tractors have a high SWR (reading was about 10 on my metre).

he is using springer type aerials on both tractors that are around 3ft long . he told me that the whip part on each aerial is from a longer springer aerial whip that he chopped in half afer loosing the original whip from one tractors aerial. could this be the problem???

any help is greatly appreciated
