Bought a t-1000 starter kit around Christmas time. Got round to installing it last week into one of our tractors ready for the summer. Have installed various similar systems before and used the same method this time of connecting aerial and mic before powering up. Upon powering up I noticed that no matter the squelch settings there was a slight distortion in the back ground. I then discovered that whilst I could hear the lad in the other tractor crystal clear, he couldn't hear a word I was saying.
Mic seems to be working ok- we even swapped mics to see if the problem was with my mic.

I'm a bit confused so any advice would be greatly appreciated
