Looking at getting an 827 antenna very soon, It's taken a while to get this Kenwood but now I'm sorted with this the antenna is next.
Looking for an ATU also if anyone has one for sale in excellent condition?!

As for me using the 50w linear for local work, local to me is 20 miles, not many breakers on UK40 round these parts, just taxis, truckers and boy-racer type muppets.

I'm enjoying some Short wave Listening lately, 20m band and 40m band also some of the arab commercial radio stations on AM.

I rate the 827 for 11m, I've used one with a bit of success on 15m & 20m too when I didn't have anything else up, it's a big old lump to stick in the air by oneself, it's radials get in the way when trying erect it, I admit to struggling a tad when I tried to mount one, attached to a 10' pole, on the back of my old house

The 827 is a bit of a pain to put up,but its well worth it good strong antenna lasts for years if done right
