Hi all,

Due to the increasing number of VW owners now using CB radio we have created a forum just for you :)

Whether you've got a 1960's Splitscreen, a brand new Golf, or a classic Beetle, this is the place for you.

Andy

I've got a 72 bay window which im fitting a cb into,
A new beetle convertible, just got a boot mount to fit to it and hoping to get a 60's crew cab pick up in April.
Have fitted a cig lighter adaptor to the cb to make it easier to put between the vehicles.

Got a 1984 T25 Camper, Orange and White, air-cooled 2 litre, immaculate. Haven't got any CB's or Ham Radio stuff in it. Yet! :)

Just Purchased a Polmar Venus (From Thunderpole) to put in my recently acquired 2.5 T4-LWB Campervan.

Intend to run it from the leisure battery, & Hope I remember to switch it off at the appropriate time, so I dont run the battery flat (Want the option of using the CB without the ignition on). My other 2 motors (Discoverys) have the rigs switched (Via a relay) to the ignition.

The relay/Split-charge is located under the driver seat, with the leisure battery hidden in the back. I have a full size Orbitor whip ready to mount to the roof-rails & intend to mount the "workings" in the "Cup-holder-box" just in front of the gear-stick (As available on ebay). I should be able to keep most of the cabling hidden, so as to no upset SWMBO. :D

I'll try to remember to get some pics of the install.....IF I remember (But its getting cold out there!)

EDIT
Looking at the date of the last post, seems that there are not many VW CBers around?!

I'm very new to the CB world but own a swb 1.9td T4.

Only recently fitted this after mentioning to a guy at work I fancy a CB for the van, needless to say he had a couple of old units, so for £10 I got a Contact 40 (think that's what it's called) retro to say the least...
Think I might just upgrade after Christmas now I know we have a couple of members in our VW group that use them...

New to the CB world, just installed an old Uniden100 to my 1970 type 2 westy, purchased a Sirio omega 27 aerial, leads and SWR from Thunderpole all seems to be working nice.
Anyone in the Milton Keynes are running a CB, only ever seems to be some crazy chap on Chanel 19 swearing his head off.

Cheers
Sam
