Hi,

I've heard of people on HAM bands using wire antennas stretched across there fence or roof, I was just wondering why it isnt so popular in CB?

And how would I go about contructing one of these?

Thankyou. :D

cb is designed to work on a vertical antenna and a wire is horizontal so would not work as effectively

:D wire attic dipoles can work well for cb ...I have one but it would work better for cb as an inverted V as this will give near vertical omnidirectional signal path whereas horizontaly polarised will be bidirectional

:) Its important to include a choke at the feedpoint to prevent the coax(if you are using coax instead of twin line) from becoming a part of the antenna.
