1/2 wave silver rod mounting

Hey people just got a 1/2 wave silver rod just wondering can i just bolt it to my chimney or am I best using a stand off bracket or something please help need to get back on the air

good choice of antenna buddy if you put 3 to 4 Bamboo canes in to your antenna as the canes will stop the silver rod from bending & one stand-off bracket & also weather proof tape around the joints over the jubilee clips the tape will stop rain from getting inside the silver rod as long as the tape is water proof
