I am new to the home base cb scene i was wondering what i need to get one up i have an old union cb a power supply from thunderpole i think will power it and a small mag mount i take it the antenna needs upgrading but what about the rest. The one in the car is now champion (cheers andy and crew) but i have always wanted a home base one but her in doors has my bank card...... so whats missing from the list / needed?

mag mount on a fridge or cooker or any large metal object will do if swr is reasonable suppliers do a ground plane system you could fit in loft

I had a mag mount with a spring whip in my loft and it didn't work... The SWR was always sky high and wouldn't go down...

It worked better stuck on my radiator on the ground floor!

A 18ft GP works well in the loft though a bit directional . 8ft 3in either side Wire dipole works quite good in the loft .
