it is in a discovery td5 auto 5 door. when the engine is running or not doesnt make a difference. (wired to go on and off with ignition)

bit confused by your post.
when the coax is attached to radio and radio connected direct to battery is there any noise coming through with the disco completely switched off (keys out)?

if no then does the noise start when you turn the key to ignition (engine stopped)?

or is it with engine running?

Have you done the usual testing of coax and checked that the antenna is properly grounded? with a continunity meter.

would be suprised if it's the disco then because if no keys in ignition everything should be off.

do you have anything installed in the vehicle which is powered after the keys are taken out....

the radio. (goes off with the ignition but u can press the power button on the front and it comes on!

on the key

you can have it all off

(*) cig lighter on only

(*) iginition (glow plugs warm up)

(*) and start

like i said tho my mate connected it direct to batt and said it was noisey. swr is 1.2 to 2.0and had no probles using is set up on my other landy (90) but i will try it for my self when i have got back home but it is a shame as i was planning on talking to people on the way down and back up the m5 and a30

if there is interference when the keys are out of the ignition, then I don't think the alternator is doing it, cos it isn't going round...

Has to be something else, an accessory or it could be just where your parked.

I get inference on the cb as I drive round the farm yard from various equipment around the farm, once I get out the yard, all is quiet.

yes i can have the cb on with out the engine running. i have installed a bandit on the poer feed. a lo pass filter on the coax and have coiled the coax a few times at the base of the aireal as sugessed by a mate but it is still there. its getting to the point where it will be taken out again wich is a shame as i like it and have had some fun on it!
