anyone got any suggestions on how to get a decent ground on our disco 1. :oops: the antenna is mounted on the gutter at the rear of the car.
if i do need an extra ground where do i take it from/to.

no you should be absolutely fine providing the grub screws have bitten into the inner of the gutter if the meter is saying its a ground plane problem then make sure the whip is std

quick update, the swr reading is channel one 1.5.

channel 20 1.5.

channel 40 just fractionaly under 2. raised the attena up as high as it will go. but cannot get it any lower. are these readings ok. advice is always greatfully recieved.

I use a 4' Firestik mounted on a bracket behind the spare wheel using the top left carrier bolt to hold it. Seems to get out well and no swr issues. Used to use a gutter mount on most of my Range Rovers and that was fine too.
