I use a 7" Turbo Magmount, run the wire to the back along the roof, inside through the rear door opening.

It goes through the split in the rear seat down onto the floor and into the front of the car.

I'm using a Mini Orbiter antenna which is small but gives great range on my Midland Alan 42 Handheld with car kit, just plugs into cig lighter socket.

Plug and play basically and never had any probs, hope that helped?

I'd also look at CB radios that have dim mount bracket options. Some Jimmy's have a twin-DIN dash, so you effectively have a spare slot.

Thunderpole do a dash mount bracket for most of their radios, see here: http://www.thunderpole.co.uk/cb-din-mounts.html

I went to great lengths installing a Thunderpole T2000 into the dash of my Jimny, and a through-the-roof mount for a Sirio ‘Blue Line’ antenna. The headlining had to come out, the centre-dash had to come off, and I had to cut away the cigarette-tray.

Well worth it, though....
