At the moment my Disco is running on Goodyear Wrangler HP's, and to be honest I find them a bit crap, with limited grip on/off road in the wet.

They're getting to the last 3-4mm of tread, so its time for a change.

What are you people out there using? I'd like an AT type tyre, and the BFG's look quite good, but I'm willing to look at other makes.
I'm no expert, please take anything i say with a tablespoon of salt!

if you want a good all-round tyre, i don't think you can beat BFG All terrain. There's cheaper ones about but you pay for what you get. i've got over-sized ones on my freelander, plus they look mint.
If at first you don't suceed, sod it.

I'm using Hankook M/Ts on my Disco and can't fault them. I 'pushed' the size slightly to 245/75 and although a little light on wet tarmac, the absolute biz in mud :D

I'm using BFG ATs, 265 size and have had no problems with them so far, they seem to handle everything OK.

We've gone for BFG MTs 235 / 85 with a 2" lift on our Disco - had them fitted this week and they look great.

We have used Colways for years (slightly smaller 235 / 70) and they were good too on and off road. They nearly failed the MOT this time, so we needed replacements for the Rally we're going on.

I have been running on Goodyear MTR's for ages now and they seem to be lasting very well.

Bit pricey but well worth a look if you are upgrading.

Rob.

hankook mt 15's on 10inch wide rims ,,, and i have never needed a winch lol,, also i find they are not too noisy during road use and feel good at 90-100,,, you can also fill them with mud and drive careful untill you need to sort out a tailgater and then floor it and empty your tyres over their car lol :D :D :D
