Any recommendations?

Have been looking at the RM Model KL200, 80 or 100 W (£45) depending on what you read, or KL400 which is 200W (£115) but also quite a bit more expensive.

Haven't found many others to buy online.

Cheers

Thanks for clarifying that.

Would the caravan split charger be the same as a split charge relay:

Yeah thank you. I think for the time being i'll have the rig set up for my car first. so i will only have to worry about the radio itself and the antenna

Then in a bit i'll organise an antenna of sorts at home etc

I'll let you all know how i get on anyway.

Run here the:

KL400
KL500
KL203

They are all working well and have never had any troubles with them, guess will do now.................... All seem to deliver the power well, and have small fans fitted on mine as helps with the heat, especially during the summer months

I have a KL 500.

Would a lack of power cause it not to work properly, ie, do I need to upgrade to a 40 amp power supply?

If I transmit from my office using no amp power, the signal is, of course clear as a bell in my jeep, some 100 yards away. As soon as the amp is turned on in the office, the transmission is lost altogether and all I get is a load of hiss.

Also, when the amp is on you can only TX for about three seconds before the rig restarts.

Any advice greatly accepted as usual.

Cheers,

Rob.
You got Eclipse coming at you!!!!!

you definatly need a power supply big enough to drive the burner and cb if it is working then you might be too close with the car
