Re: Roof Antenna

I just have my iMax2000 bolted to the side of the bungalow... Works alright I think, I didn't trust the chimney it's been up there since 1956, might be a bit crispy lol.

I have a back up silver rod on a pole in the garden :D

Re: Looking for advice

This is an awesome idea! I'd love to be able to drive up to a Cafe and order by radio!
Get a few scaffhold poles, weld or clamp them together and weld the bottom one to the side of your container. Stick a base antenna on that and BOOM! You're on!
Better make sure it's all earthed well though lol.

Re: How many 4x4 breakers do we have!

Used to have a Discovery 1, now have a TD5 for the past 4 years. Currenty radioless but has an Orbitor SS smack bang in the middle of the roof with an simple mag mount. Spoken all around the EU with it, great Arial. I'm looking into getting a T-2000 to put in it soon. Trouble is finding a place to m...

Re: Discovery 2 Antenna Position

I also have a TD5, you want to mount the arial in the middle of the roof really, that way it will radiate equally in all directions. If you mount it to the front it will send signals backwards and so on... Keep it away from any other metal as it will effect how it works. It looks like you have the p...

Re: Radio for home and car use

As said by Mr Stampman is it easier to install a mobile unit in your car, than use a handheld. And easier to install a base station in your home, or a mobile unit with a PSU. Something like an orbitor antenna for your car would be great with a mag mount. And some kind of silver rod, pole would be gr...
