My apologies :)
I have used a piece of flat bar bent to 90° and mounted the antenna to that (coax centre to antenna and earth to the bracket. I have several basic whippy antenna but the one I have to is a twin coil thunderpole no longer on there website.
Does the metal plate not need to be flat ...

i changed the wiring in the echo chamber plug to match the mic plug, but have no idea were the wires go inside the box. It was my dads and he cant remember so we have been trying a few of the 1000 different ways it can go :/

maxon cm 10 and es 880 echo?
I have just bought a maxon and have found an es 880 ic echo box under our stairs, plugged it in and it didnt work so i guess its the wiring, i changed the wires in the plug on the echo box to match the microphone plug and it still dosnt work, the only thing left is the wiring in the back of the plug ...

high sr on a K40
I have just bought a K40 and generally impressed with it. But when i tried to SWR it, the meter read 2 on channel 1, and 2 on channel 40. Should this not be lower? it is on a magmount on the centre roof of my car, any ideas????

I have a midland 78 plus mobile cb in my car, it used to connect to a 7'' turbo mag but now its on a hatch mount. I use 2 twigs;
1) tornado whip (from maplin)
2) discovery III (from thunderpole)
When i DX, i always get told the same thing, im very quiet, with both aerials but i am a bit louder ...
