Short Amateur Radio Course starts in January

A short amateur radio training course will be held in Danbury, Chelmsford, Essex starting Thursday, January 10.

The course is six Thursday evenings of practical and theory, but the view from previous course attendees, is that it's not just boring theory but a whole load of fun as well.

Ofcom - ECC Decision on AM SSB CB apparatus

In June 2011 the ECC published a Decision harmonizing CB radio across the European Union but until now Ofcom have dragged their heels in implementing it.

It appears that Ofcom intend to drag out implementation further but their statement says the ECC Decision should probably be implemented by the ...

Beggin yer pardon, but that's not actually correct. A Foundation Licence holder can use the HF Amateur Band, 6m ,VHF (2m) and UHF (70cm), but is not allowed to use the the higher frequencies such as 23cm / Microwave etc.

Foundation can use Microwaves, the bands they have are:

136 kHz, 1.8, 3.5 ...

Ofcom have no say in the matter it's a European Directive they have to implement it.
