So my lake manxman 950 that i am currently using as my homebase rig, would be able to contact someone using a thunderpole t-1000 providing they are on channels 1 - 40 and nothing higher.

You could try the mini orbitor in a mirror mount or use a co harnness and have 2 one on each mirror

80ch Amstrad 901?

I have seen a few Amstard 901's that have been converted to work on, I pressume, the CEPT band, 4o uk + 40 eu channels. Some use the PA/CB button to switch between uk and eu others use the channel 9 button. are they good? I was thinking of getting one, if it would enable me to talk to someone using ...

I phoned up andy at Thunderpole, and being thunderpole, i.e fantastic they said send it back and they will send a replacement of either, RG213, RG58 or mini 8 with appropriate 259's soldered on, all I have to do is package it up and send it off.

Thunderpole are fantastic!!

UPDATE: Last night I checkerd everything with a Multi-meter and everything seemed normal I used another mag. Now I connected up my Midland 77-104 and the lights on the signal meter came on when i keyed the mike the lights stayed but blinked and transmitted intermittently and the swr meter wobbled mo...

Yeah the door itself is metal the runners/rails up the frame are metal but the wheels are plastic and the runners/rails don't quite touch the floor???

on low your only outputting 0.5 watts whereas on hi your outputting 4 watts. you do the math!
