The issues with heat seems to be common with many of the newer radios.

I've got the new McKinley EU and that gets bloody hot after just 10 mins of normal chat and mines still in standard legal mode with just 4 Watts on FM/AM.

The Grant 2 gets rather warm as well....

I'm not sure why the new radios get so warm, it doesn't seem to affect their performance and I've not heard of any with blown output transistors due to heat but older radios certainly didn't heat up like the new ones.

That's very true Del, you know what I think it is? Less space... The new ones are all packed with computer chips and other stuff but the old ones aren't, there is loads of room in the case for air.

Yes it did they sent me a replacment and I returned the broken one for them to inspect.
