put orbitor in loft on top of tin with four pieces of 9 ft cable attached and swr still in red thinking about just forgetting this fed up of throwing money at it ::-() ::-() ::-() ::-()

Don't give up mate....I did a bit of experimenting with various CB antennas indoors and found a mirror mount with groundplane worked well. It looked like it had a little aerial going down towards the floor. CB, Amateur Radio and so on is all about learning....I'm still gaining new knowledge and trying different things out and I've been into 'radio' of one kind or another since I was a lad. :)
