I'm a bit weary of ic7400's to many of them have had problems compared to the rest of icom range.

Yes 4.5 out of 5 for the 7400 but remember this is the same radio as a 746 pro which has a rating of 4.1 out of 5 and the highest failure rate of any icom radio.
By all means buy one and it would probably be fine but you won't be that unlucky if it fails, that's all I'm saying.

The triple 5 will pick up again just needs the sunspot activity to increase. Might take a couple of years before Ozz starts getting over to there again though.
756 pro3 nice :D , you see the Icom are releasing the 7600 shortly?

I can see the radio been a bit of a slow seller.its not what it can do ,but its the fact how much its going to cost and a lot of people do not have the money now to spend on radio gear .Plus it ment to take over the ic756 pro3,andy

yer still read up on here just been busy with work so only reading time not time to post by the time i caught up with emails etc after work.

anyway yesterday i had a 42 mile convo with a guy (fox bravo dx club operator) cant remember his c/s as i had no pen (wasnt expecting to get heard), op conditions were icom 3/4 power (ish) springer antenna mag mounted onto my radiator in my ground floor flat lol, like i said i was not expecting it.

at the time i was testing my new rear heat sink mounted fan on the back of the icom (draws heat out the radio) well inpressed its a fan (obviously) and it dont cause any noise on the radio so good times.

also treated my static mobile antenna system to some new shiny coax as im loosing power down my 20m of rg58, now i have 10m of westflex low loss (rg213 size) coax with decent plugs each end, which i brough for a quite good price of £26.18 including p+p and fitting of the plugs each end, ordered it wednesday and turned up today (thursday)

i now have 20m of rg58 (fairly new) to make patch leads etc etc out of.

what about you, hows it up your way mate?

Ed was it westflex 103 m8 if so very good cable, its better than H100 cable both low loss.i traded my ts480sat plus cash for a icom 7400,it needs wide-banding for 11mtrs.still no i-max2000 up yet went to put it up a couple of days ago our lass kicked off big time,as i was in hosp the day before now its bad weather up here till after the weekend.i dont know if i want to buy a another radio, yaesu ft990 or buy some sound gear EQPLUS unit or art pro channel unit for the icom pro3. its good to hear from you.andy.

was indeed westflex 103.

any plans on where your going to get the 11m mod done or you going to dive in there yourself and do the mod.

ill have a look at the yaesu i dont reconise the model number.

i have got the icom seperation kit in the car now all nicely wired in look pretty smart, stops it from sliding around lol will take some photos when i find a digi camera and post them up, the radio dont stay in the car though just the sep kit, not brave or silly enough to leave it in the car lol
