Hi,
Thought I'd try my cb indoors as I'm snowed in

connected my Intek M790+ up to my DC power supply
but didn't have the inline fuse connection in place as I left that in my van and connected it the wrong way

heard a pop and a little bit of smoke, is it repairable ? or just as cheap to get a new one ? had a look inside there's a little bit of burning on some solder joints.
Thanks.

Some rigs of old used to have a reverse polarity diode for this very reason and the little thing would give up no smoke, no big bang, and definitely no lights

Mind you I did see one little rig that wasn't so equipped, the biggest capacitor of the lot had exploded, and what a horrible mess it was too

not to put a frightener on you mind

Hi,
Was just going to post on here about the resistor

I've had a look in side and found the problem, small black resistor with a silver band has burnt out but I can't read the writing on it, too small

looked in the wiring diagram and I think it's C531 0.01guessing that's ohms ? Is it a part I can get from
Thanks.

Oh hang on, could be D531 IN4004 think it's got IN4 on the part.

Must be a diode =D>
?

It works =D>
Need to get a diode though just soldered a piece of wire in for now

Sorted now, fitted a new diode

picked up a spare just in case
