Oh Well here we go again,
Recently fitted a President George with Sirio 4000 megawatt, swr ok 1.2 - 1.5. Ive had no problems for past month or so with tx between local and dx stations. 3 days ago parked up in Felixstowe and decided to switch from the standard mic to a Astatic road devil and my RF Xtreme 2018, both are P6 wired, one of my fellow truckers parked up next to me and I obviously asked for a mic check passing the time, everything was fine crisp, clear mod nice and loud etc

Everything was working fine, until i passed him during the day and later that evening I was parked no more than 1/4 mile from him, he stated that he could not hear any transmission from me except muffled / breaking mod and my output signal to him was around 3lb usually plus 30lb ( Radio in export mode outputs 20watts ), so i thought ok possible damage to radio changing out the mic from standard mic as supplied, as i had described earlier( George carries +12v on pin 6 ). So here's the kicker on this problem, is it his radio that has a problem or mine, reason i ask is everyone else on planet CB has no problem talking to me, plus 30lb and radio 5 etc since i spoke to him those few days ago.

sounds like his problem if every one else can hear you ok

One question - would it possibly be damage to his FET that would result in his inability to hear me, I only ask as he could hear other stations(Mobile) on the same strech of road at legal 4 watt giving him 5lb but not me at 20 watts.

Well like you 2 i thought must be a bit of a wind up going on, not so im afraid; We met up down at Southampton (Rownhams svs) on Thursday morning after running down from our respective deliveries. He complained again he couldnt understand my modulation, so i called him up on the cab phone, and asked him to let me hear myself, he was right splatter, break up, etc in large amounts - but again to everyone else i was wall to wall radio 5 no probs !!

Im wondering if a stage of his filtering has packed up, but no one yet can explain it.
