Can anyone shed any light on which is the best type of power-supply to use for my mobile rig at home?
Regulated? Stabilzed? Switched?
I have a cheap switched one which i stopped using because it gives me about 7 pounds of noise.

Alinco 330FX switching pwr. supply - excellent, quiet a little on the pricy side.
Cobra Power Pak CA-20 - no longer in production, ebay, etc., excellent, quiet and affordable.

just unpacked an ebay power supply it was in much worse condition than i expected.. I will clean it up and turn it on and test it with a multimeter. if it burns in ok I will use it
