So ive ended up buying a sirio gainmaster, and made a base that I can park the car onto, and then I so far have 11ft of poles to connect to that and chuck the sirio on top of that.. Cant wait to try it this weekend! Just hope the poles get podercoated in time and receive the straight pipe joiners in ...

As the title says it's a 148 gtl dx mk2 3x40 channel dragonfly

The rig is now at the doctors so will soon see! Cant wait haha

Ive taken the rig to be checked out and without looking any further than these photos he said that its had a eprom fitted, probably UK 40 channels or super low-super high frequencys either way that sounds good to me! Cant wait to find out what else it may have

Cheers for the diagram update dragonfly, clears it up abit, but then mounting it would require drilling a hole in the roof? Not too keen on that which is why ive made this so I can use a Imax 2000 or whatever antenna I choose to be static mobile with.

Ok so I will insulate it from touching the whip, but the tristar gp kits mount similar to how ive mounted mine and they work ok?

Recently bought a 148 mk2 off fleabay as ive always wanted one, got it for a good price, took the back off it to inspect it as the channel 9 switch doesnt work.. Found all this... Some kind of mod? Which is connected to the band knob. Anyone know what this is all about?

This is how ot mounts, sits ontop of the hex magmount part, then the radicals screw and then locate onto thw flats of the magmount and then the antenna is then screwed ontop of it to secure it further.. Now thats the issue Is whether the radials and indeed the 'boss' part mustnt touch the magmount ...

It's made of aluminium, il get more pics of how ive made it to fit to get my point across as its hard to explain.. But pretty sure ive got it wrong as it shouldnt touch the antenna itself.

Hmm got the tankwhip, swr is 1.6/7 on 1 And 40 so thats not too good.. And it also doesnt receive as well as my 80's made antenna.. Looks like il just go all out and buy an Imax 2000 for static mobile use as my silver rod isnt even 1 s point better than my magmount!

Ive recently made a groundplane for my magmount to use with my tankwhip, just how do you mount it to the magmount/antenna, I guess it cant be touching the antenna as thats made my swr go mental as I guess that effectively lengthens the antenna so it has to be insulated from the metal mount where ive ...

Well ive recently tried my 5/8 silver rod and it's barely better than my one off 80's magmount antenna so ive stuck with that but ive just bought a 1/4 tank whip to try as ive heard good things about them! Will be interesting!
