i have a intek m790 plus. a friend of mine told me that a twist of a screwdriver in the rig can increase the out put,
is this also possable on my rig? if so witch one do i adjust?
would like a bit more range but dont want to run a burner!
many thanks

rig expert job only i'm afraid. Some companies, will up them to export power for you and increase the modulation. Both help you get out better (a bit), but need special equipment and knowledge.
I would make sure you're running the tallest antenna first and preferably not on a mag. that will make a big difference.

i am running a small orbitor on a gutter mount atm but i would like to get the optimum range for this set up drilling holes is not a option
(to nice a truck)
but if u look in the 4x4 section u will see that i got other problems to sort! Grr lol
any way its not as simple as it used to be? so its a burner option then? (looking for about a 15 - 20 mile range

How will an echo mic improve the radio's performance? A power mic on the other hand would improve the modulation if it's currently a little quiet.stampman wrote:top range antenna wilson or sirio will improve your performance with an echo mic for the audio set to minimum echo leval or just above

Main thing to concentrate on is the antenna, get a decent one, get the SWR low and bob's your teapot..
Getting a few extra watts from the radio is not going to make much difference, if any at all!
