Hi
I have a compleat new set up cb radio cable antenna the lot but i cant get my swr down its always in the red,The antenna is mounted on a light bar above the windscreen with spots but spots not wired in or working...
Its getting a very good earth on the mount all fresh metal ive been on this for days now and i cant solve it, am i missing something the cabel i am using is new with fixed ends so all i have to do is just screw the connection on.. all purchased from thunderpole HELP LOL
Swr in the red
Using a conti meter:
I'd check there is no shorts on the coax (between the centre and shield)
Check conti to earth on the light bar, ie 1 lead to cb mount location, the other to a door hinge or somewhere, to make sure that the light bar isn't isolated or something daft.
after that... not sure, take it that the coax jumper on the swr meter is ok and your connecting it the correct way around....

Cheers guys
I think the problem might be the patch cable on the swr meter ive just noticed the cable is a little warn and maybe got getting a good earth ive ordered a new one so waiting for that then will try again,
also ive got a gutter mount now so moved the antenna as it was not pointing up more of a angle back because of clearence problems.
Do i need to make sure the gutter mount is getting a good earth too.
