COBRA 148 MIKE

Can anyone suggest a radio/mike combination please.
I have a 148 gtl dx mk1 and useing a kpo power mike but i,m being told it sounds muffled no matter how i adjust the mike.

What does the 148 owner use for a good match.

if you can get hold of one an astatic power teardrop mic is the one to use or a power echo with just a faint hint of echo will work well
