Hi all.
The pot that controls the FM power output on my M20 has been destroyed by some ham fisted tweaker!
Does anyone know the rating of the pot so I can source a replacement?
Any tips for replacing these SM components too please?

Sounds like the previous owner was pretty determined to turn it up to eleven!
If you can find a circuit diagram for the radio, that may give the value of RP8. Midland themselves may be able to help you out with that.
If not, I would remove the component as it may have some markings on it to help you identify it's value. Failing that, a multimeter could save the day, so you can measure the resistance (max value) yourself.
Regarding removing it, you probably just need a soldering iron with a fine tip (not sure what temperature would be best) and a solder sucker or something like that. Just try to minimise the amount of time you are applying heat so you don't damage the component or the PCB.
