Cheers folks. I'll give it a whirl when i get a spare second.
The Fergies do make good bases for mobile set-ups though, due to metal cab roofs still. better than having to bolt steel plates to the roof like i have.

do the right thing Spike,a massey ferguson 6480 is what you need
Did think about red ones, but a contractor i work with has 3 6480 dyna6's and 2 6485's and all of them have been a lot of trouble.
Kinda put me off. Goina have to shape myself, the season is approching........

My dyna6 6455 needed new dash, on friday dealer put one in, now ive lost autodrive, its so much harder on the road talking on radio and changing gear as well! Should get it sussed tomorrow hopefully with new firmware update on the dash.
Think the dyna 6's have had similar probs to that, just daft electric problems,
but the 6485s have been a tad more serious. one of them is on its 3rd gearbox and back end, and the others had 2 management computers, and can't decided whether to go forwards or reverse.
They make good weight blocks to put on the front of my super dexta tho. lol.

I had a brief experince of driving a 6480 dyna-6 last weekend as part of a young farmers event. not the kind of tractor you can hop on and drive first time. although i imagine days spent forage harvesting or ploughing could be very enjoyable aboard it.
Personally i am loyal to tracors that have the word FORD on the bonnet.

Was in my local NH dealers in the summer for mower parts and they quoted a customer who had a blue tractor 3 weeks for repairspro.farmer wrote:Personally i am loyal to tracors that have the word FORD on the bonnet.
Quickest my Massey dealer has been is 2 hours, slowest is 2 days
I'm still getting annoyed of the cab suspension compressor on my 6455 cutting out my CB when it kicks in, does anyone have any ideas how to supress it??
