thanks for that but .......... how ?

my cb-x seems to be functioning fine, i can receive ok, swr ok, but when i transmit, the other person can hear the mic 'click' , my power meter goes over ok , but he can't hear my voice

i think it's the 'big round thing' inside the mic that's given up the ghost.........it's got a vibration membrane & a sealed metal round unit......i'm not a techy !

so.....will any 4 pin mic work, if not, what do i need to do ? thanks again in advance for help the noobs out there #-o

Give thunderpole a ring they can probably make one up with the correct wiring for you, wiring differs on radios

mic came super quick on saturday, tried it in my truck today........same prob..... :(

quess i need a new radio

i know the antenna is important, but as i drive an 8 wheel tipper, i do a bit of quarry & off roading........low trees & stuff getting in the way. does this mean i have to have a springer on top to take the punishiment or is there another way to do it to have the best antenna setup possible ?

is a springer a springer, do they vary in quality & power ?

i better do a post on the antenna forum as well

i dont think much of the springer antennas, thunderpole sell alot of very good mobile antennas, i like the look of the red thunder (bullwhip type) antenna with a red base  *King*

The PTBM134AOX board is used in quite a few radios , There is a Mic Volume adjuster inside which may have become faulty, try adjusting it , i have it here in my old 80s scribble pad as Mike gain .
